How About Bartering When There Is No Money!

friendshelpingfriends started this conversation

Here is the question that is on everyones mind, "How Can I Make Money?"  With the economy in the shape that it is in, everyone is hurting.  How can you make ends meet if there is not of money to go around.  Then put kids into the equation.  More and more people are opting to feed their kids and not eat themselves just because there is not enough food.

Resources that use to be plentiful for the low income are becomeing scarce.  If money is short, donations get cut.  If donations get cut, programs cannot maintain their existence.  It's a vivicous cycle no matter how you look at it.

According to the news on TV, the recession is going to take years to get turned around.  The damage has already been done.  How do you make a full recovery from the disaster it has caused.  Where can a person turn who needs help.

Here is an except I found on charitable giving:

As USA Today puts it in the title of an article about the effect of the economic crisis on charitable giving, "It's a hard time to be a charity." In a nutshell, government and private contributions to charitable organizations are decreasing while demand for their services is on the rise. From the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders to local food banks and homeless shelters, charities are feeling the impact of the economic downturn.

People are going to have to start banding together.  It is not enough to sit and complain, to feel sorry for ourselves, and hope and wait for a handout that is never going to come.

You know back in the olden days, people who did not have money worked on a bartering system.  Maybe it is time to bring that system back.  Everyone, if they think about it, has skills and abilities.  If you do an endepth search of your soul, you will find areas that you are strong in.  These areas might just be of help to someone who is in desparate need.

Recycling of used items is another good source.  How many of you have things just sitting around that are of no use to you now.  Granted you cannot pawn the items for money, but it could be its wait in gold to a family that is in need.

I keep asking myself over and over how I can help, and how can I get help when I need it.  If I just had the money, my life would be so much better off.

I have been providing resources on my blog here:  http://friendshelpingfriends.aidpage.com/

Please take the time to check it out.  Hopefully you might be able to find something that will help you out.

I think I am going to put together a bartering blog.  For those of you who might interested in this please let me know.  Lets do some brainstorming and see what we can do to come up with ways to help each other.
